Chris Daukaus will have his hands full on Saturday when he takes on power-puncher Derrick Lewis at UFC Vegas 45. The winner could eventually face another big power puncher in Francis Ngannou.

Chris Daukaus was asked recently about which fighter was more dangerous. The UFC heavyweight went with the man currently in front of him.

“I think that is what makes Derrick the more dangerous fighter than Francis. He carries that power throughout that whole fight so you have to be switched on the entire fight and can’t take any breaks,” Daukaus said on Just Scrap Radio on “You can’t have any lack of judgment or slips in your technique because he will make you pay and you will be waking up with the ref and doctor in your face.”

Power is a big factor in the UFC heavyweight division and one everybody has to worry about. Some fighters are able to carry the power throughout the whole fight while others tend to lose it when they get tired.

“Absolutely. He is a good comparison to Francis but as I said Derrick is more dangerous because he can hold that power the entire fight,” Daukaus said. “Francis is getting better with his overall game, he’s more athletic than Derrick which will help him in certain aspects. Each guy is a new puzzle that I have to solve.”

Chris Daukaus takes on Derrick Lewis at UFC Vegas 45 on December 18. The winner will find themselves in a very good spot to eventually fight for the UFC heavyweight title.
