Clippers coach Doc Rivers explains double-ejection with Bulls’ Jim Boylen
Rivers and Boylen were both ejected in the final minute of the third quarter of their match-up at Staples Center. Boylen had some choice words for Clips big man Montrezl Harrell who was called for an offensive foul after an illegal screen.
The Clipper coach then defended his player from Boylen and the two exchanged words. Things got heated from there and the referees decided to toss both coaches out.
However, Rivers remains firm that he doesn’t know why he was ejected, pointing out that it was Boylen who was angry and calling them dirty.
“I really have no idea why I was ejected. I really don’t,” Doc Rivers said during his post-game presser.
“Obviously I was talking to the ref. I just said, basically, that was a clean pick. And I hear Boylen yelling at me, saying that we were dirty or whatever.”
Doc responded – “Maybe you should turn to your players and tell them to call out screens.” pic.twitter.com/bpUTcmsDlQ

Rivers, as can be seen from the clips of his ejection, was obviously shocked to learn that he was also getting sent off. However, he wasn’t able do anything about the decision of the officials and was forced to leave the showdown.
The Clippers went on to win the game, 128-121. Danilo Gallinari and Montrezl Harrell led the way with 27 and 29 markers, respectively,
While Rivers will be satisfied that he got the last laugh over Boylen, though, he certainly won’t like being part of the rare coach double-ejection that happened for the first time this season.
