Los Angeles Clippers big man Montrezl Harrell made a heartwarming gesture to a fan prior to their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

According to Harrell (via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints), he was going through his usual pregame shootaround when someone approached him. The man knew someone who was dying of cancer and wanted an autograph from the Clippers center.

Upon hearing the genuine request, Harrell took his shooting shirt, signed it, and gave it to the fan.

Awesome stuff from Trez. These are the moments that encapsulate the phrase “bigger than basketball.”

Harrell has certainly come a long way from being a second round pick to becoming a beloved player among Clippers fans.

The 26-year-old appeared to be inspired by what happened prior to the game. He had another solid outing for the Clippers off the bench to help them secure a 118-106 home win over the Timberwolves.

The undersized center scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and recorded a steal and a block. He also went 8-of-13 from the field in 26 minutes off the bench.

L.A. played with everyone healthy today, which is the first time it has happened this season. Kawhi Leonard top-scored for the Clippers with 31 points and four 3-pointers, while Paul George netted 21 markers in his second game back since missing nine straight games due to a hamstring injury.

For Montrezl Harrell's part, he is having a career season with the Clippers so far. In 47 games while playing 28 minutes per contest, he is averaging 19.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 56.8 percent from the field.

With their win over Minnesota, the Clippers are now tied with the Denver Nuggets for the no. 2 spot in the Western Conference standings.
