Los Angeles Clippers small forward Paul George admits he “was a little nervous” when the Indiana Pacers drafted Kawhi Leonard in the 2011 NBA Draft.

George says he was nervous because he and Leonard play the same position. The Pacers wound up trading Leonard to the San Antonio Spurs for George Hill.

Fast forward to today, and Leonard and George are finally teammates on the Clippers.

“I was little nervous,” George told Rachel Nichols of ESPN. “Just because, you know, we play the same position. Immediately it was like aight, I need to work on something because they're bringing in reinforcements right away.

“But it would've been amazing to see what we could've did in Indiana.”

Those Pacers teams which went to the Eastern Conference Finals with Paul George, David West and Roy Hibbert might have beaten LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat if they kept Kawhi Leonard on draft night. It's truly amazing how life comes full circle. George and Leonard are now both back home in Los Angeles playing for a Clippers team which is arguably the betting favorite to win the 2020 title.

Leonard has two Finals MVPs on his résumé, while George has never been to the Finals. PG is hoping he captures his first championship in 2020 with Leonard by his side.
