A promotional poster on the PlayStation Store revealed an upcoming event for Call of Duty Warzone. The new Call of Duty game of 2021, Call of Duty Vanguard, will finally be officially unveiled this coming Thursday. It will be announced by Activision through a trailer in Warzone, similar to how Black Ops Cold War was announced a year prior.

That's right – the leaks turn out to be true. The next Call of Duty game will be called COD Vanguard, and its reveal will be done through Warzone. The PlayStation Store promotional poster revealed that the trailer will show up on August 19 at 10:30 PDT / 13:30 ET. That's just a few days from now, and we know that the wait is killing Call of Duty fans.

Activision itself would later confirm the event by posting on Twitter, asking fans to join the #BattleforVerdansk. A short official teaser video was also attached along with the tweet. With the name (Verdansk) and the trailer, we could tell that the game will indeed be another game set in WWII.

After skipping E3 2021, this will be the first time Activision publicly acknowledges Call of Duty Vanguard. With many heavily criticized the franchise for being too repetitive, it seems like a great idea to bring the series back to the past – contrasting to the futuristic, gadget-heavy kind of gameplay we've been subjected to in the past several years.
