The Indianapolis Colts have had an extremely watchful eye over Pro Bowl quarterback Andrew Luck as he continues to recover from offseason shoulder surgery.

According to NFL Trade Rumors, the Colts have already ruled out Luck for their Week 2 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Colts HC Chuck Pagano announced Monday that QB Andrew Luck will ultimately miss Week 2’s game against the Cardinals and it remains to be seen whether he’ll practice this week.

Luck has yet to make any significant progress in his recovery from the injury that would create some sort of optimism that he would play next Sunday. There is still plenty of uncertainty as to the exact timetable for his return to the field, as the most recent indication is that he could be back in October.

This could mean more struggles for Indianapolis that could possibly mirror the disappointing 46-9 loss in the season opener against the Los Angeles Rams. Luck's absence has made it clear that the Colts have many holes on the roster, as his play has been covering them up over the last few seasons.

In the meantime, Jacoby Brissett could in line to be the temporary starter in place of Luck, as backup Scott Tolzien was highly inefficient against the Rams.
