Indianapolis Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds has declined to interview for the Cleveland Browns open general manager job, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

Dodds was promoted to assistant general manager for the Colts during the 2018 season after being an advisor under Chris Ballard. Before joining the Colts, he was a senior personnel executive with the Seattle Seahawks from 2006 to 2017. Dodds has been given a lot of credit for helping build the Colts to where they are today, and some believed he was the favorite to land the Browns general manager.

Now the Browns will turn their focus to Philadelphia Eagles Vice President of Football Operations Andrew Berry and Minnesota Vikings assistant general manager George Paton, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

The Browns are expected to request permission from the Vikings in the next few days for permission to interview him. The Browns have hired Kevin Stefanski as their head coach and these are both guys who have strong ties to him.

For Dodds, he will continue to keep his focus on the Indianapolis Colts and it's a big offseason for them. The biggest question surrounding this team is what will they do at quarterback. Jacoby Brissett is still under contract for next season, but some don't believe he should be the quarterback going forward.

The Colts have a lot of options and Dodds and the rest of the front office are going to need to make the right decision to get the team back to the playoffs.
