It looks like Carson Wentz has recovered enough from his ankle injuries to play for the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3, though the team is remaining cautious about his condition.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Colts are planning to start Wentz when they play the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. However, Frank Reich and Co. do have a backup plan should the starting QB be unable to perform at the level they expect.

Carson Wentz has largely been deemed a game-time decision for the showdown with the Titans after he sprained both his ankles in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams. The injuries–a high-ankle sprain in his right ankle and an inversion sprain in his left ankle–occurred in the fourth quarter of the said contest after Aaron Donald tackled the 28-year-old.

He did provide some hope of his return when he practiced with the Colts on Friday, but clearly, the team is not yet fully confident about his condition, hence the contingency plan.

Having Wentz is a massive boost for the team, though, especially after their 0-2 start to the campaign. Wentz has already thrown for three touchdowns for the Colts–including two against the Rams–and there's no doubt Indianapolis needs him if they want to put up a competitive fight and win.

The Titans, for their part, are brimming with confidence after taking down the Seattle Seahawks last week to get their record to 1-1.
