The Indianapolis Colts could potentially be without one of their most productive wide receivers in T.Y. Hilton against the Oakland Raiders. However, head coach Frank Reich is confident that the receiving corps will be able to play to their usual standards.

Kevin Hickey of Colts Wire talked with the head coach to address the fact that his first-choice wideout is unlikely to play against Oakland. The answer he gave should instill a lot of confidence to the team.

“I think we’ve had a little bit more depth early, coming out of camp going into that first game with six receivers active, which is a little bit unique. When Devin (Funchess) went down, it was like, ‘Okay, that’s a blow but okay, we still got five active,'” Reich said Friday to the media. “We will see how it plays out here with T.Y. (Hilton). But we have a lot of confidence in these guys. These young guys are stepping up and are ready to go.”

It's a great boost for the Colts offense to hear such words of confidence from their head coach. They will be hard-pressed to perform and live up to the standards he set up for them.

Since Hilton didn't manage to make it to practice, players such as Deon Cain, Zach Pascal, and Chester Rogers will get more targets. Moreover, the Colts promoted Ashton Dulin to the active roster to provide another large target for Jacoby Brissett to pass to.

It won't be an easy game without their star wideout in Hilton. But the coach's confidence in the team should make them feel good about themselves and play better against the Raiders.
