The Indianapolis Colts were able to address their need for a pass-rush ahead of the 2019 season by adding former Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Justin Houston. After being signed by the Colts, Houston had some encouraging words as the 2019 approaches.

Surely the Colts knew that as they pursued Houston, but the fact that the Chiefs released him left many wondering why considering he has been one of their best pass rushers in recent years. Although his best days could be behind him, Houston joins a Colts defense flooded with potential and solid talent.

Houston reportedly signed a two-year deal worth $24 million, a deal that might surprise some considering Houston was released just a couple weeks ago. However, if what Houston says is true and he brings forth his double-digit sack potential to Indianapolis, the deal is worth every cent. Houston holds the Chiefs single-season sack record as he accumulated 22.0 sacks back in 2014. The Colts could very well see Houston regain his dominance and lead them back to the postseason pending his health does not

Indianapolis' 2018 second-round pick Darius Leonard provides the team with a direction on defense and a lot to look forward to. Now that Leonard appears to be the clear-cut general of the defense, adding players around him to complement his talents could turn the Colts into a complete roster moving forward.
