The XFL, unlike some of the other leagues, chose to cancel the rest of their regular season and it's a good thing they chose to do so. Just a few days after canceling the rest of the season, the XFL confirmed that a player on the Seattle Dragons tested positive for the coronavirus, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.

Of course, the Dragons and the XFL have chosen to keep the player that tested positive for COVID-19 anonymous. While the player remains unnamed, the XFL stated that the player reported their illness to the team on Tuesday.

Then, on Friday, the player proceeded to test positive for the coronavirus after receiving their results. Since then, the player has been quarantined and is receiving the proper care to help them recover.

Last weekend, the same player played against the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. However, the player didn't show or carry any of the symptoms that are associated with the coronavirus. Also, none of the players on the Roughnecks roster tested positive for the coronavirus.

Earlier this week, sports leagues began to suspend or cancel their seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic. Instead of putting their season on hold, the XFL chose to cancel the rest of their season. As a result, players are free to sign with NFL teams as they please.

After ending their season early, the XFL plans on making a valiant return for their second season in 2021. On the other hand, whoever the unnamed player is, hopefully they have a speedy recovery.
