Talk of Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas somehow landing with the Dallas Cowboys still hasn’t completely gone away. An ex-scout recently reignited the speculation by saying Thomas, who has been holding out this offseason for a new long-term deal, is “still in play” for Dallas.

And now, Thomas has poured a bit more fuel on that fire as he started following the Cowboys, as well as legendary Cowboys safety Darren Woodson, on Instagram.

As former Seahawks teammate Cliff Avril revealed, Thomas’ love of the Cowboys was well known inside the Seattle locker room. Thomas already made that clear with his come-and-get-me plea to the Cowboys last season, and if it wasn’t clear enough to the rest of the world, this latest move should seal it.

Of course, Thomas following the Cowboys doesn’t necessarily mean that a deal is imminent. Although the Seahawks don’t appear to be moving quickly in search of a resolution to Thomas’ contract holdout, they shouldn’t be in any rush to deal him either, even with training camp just a couple weeks away.

This latest move by Thomas is likely just his way of sending a message to the Seahawks that if they’re not willing to give him the long-term contract he wants, he has a preferred destination for where he’d want to go.

It remains to be seen exactly how the whole Thomas situation plays out. But the longer things go without a new contract, Thomas’ future in Seattle becomes less and less likely.
