Dallas Cowboys veteran Sean Lee can now join the rest of us decomposing corpses costuming as people. According to the linebacker, these gosh slam '90s kids are making him feel a bit long in the tooth.
How do I know this? Well, I'm glad you asked! The Cowboys talent literally said so himself.
“You feel like the old man when you realize some of these mid-, late-’90s birthdays of the guys you’re playing with,” Sean Lee told ESPN. “It does keep you young. But I’m as excited as I’ve ever been and love the game as much as I ever loved it. It’s good. It gives you a sense of urgency that you only have so many shots to win a championship. When you get near the end and don’t have that championship, you feel that more than ever.”
Regardless of his age, the Cowboys will be relying upon Lee for both his leadership and play entering the NFL season — provided the corona-fication of America doesn't turn the voyage sideways.
Circling back to Lee a bit, but staying within confines of the alleged new-normal, the pandemic did put him in a spot where he wasn't able to connect with his Cowboys teammates.
“That’s the toughest part, not being around the guys and building that bond that you work on from March to now,” Sean Lee said. “The shared sacrifice of lifting and running together and kind of growing closer over time with hard work.”
