Dana White has always been good about making fights and deciding who gets the next crack at a UFC title. It appears after UFC 268 that he has options including Carla Esparza for the strawweight title.

Many people felt Carla Esparza was rightfully next for the UFC title after going on a 5-0 run and beating some big names. It doesn't appear like Dana White is on board though after UFC 268.

The UFC President was asked at the UFC 268 post-fight press conference if Carla Esparza was next. It appears like Dana White has a different plan.

“We have an option,” White said at the UFC 268 post-fight presser when asked if Esparza should wait for a title shot (h/t MMAFighting). “You don’t sit around and wait for fights, it’s a really bad idea.”

Dana White appears to be unhappy with Carla Esparza wanting to sit out and wait for the next strawweight title shot. It's a tricky situation as a loss could see her never get the opportunity again while holding out could see her be inactive for a very long time.

It's unclear who Dana White considers his options after UFC 268. Marina Rodriguez appears to be the most likely option but she has a loss to Carla Esparza.

One person it won't be is Zhang Weili. UFC 268 will most likely be her last time facing off against Rose Namajunas.

“She just lost a fight,” White said. “She’s pretty far.”

Only time will tell who the UFC ultimately chooses next for the title shot. There are some interesting contenders but it's hard not to feel like Carla Esparza is in a bad spot after UFC 268.
