Deltarune initially launched for free on PC in 2018. It soon became available on the Switch in 2019. Now, with the release of Deltarune Chapter 2, it will be coming to the Nintendo Switch as well, a few days after Chapter 2 went out for free for PC. Here is when Deltarune‘s Switch Release Date for its Chapters 1+2 version.

Deltarune Switch Release Date: September 23, 2021

Deltarune Switch version has been out since 2019. However, that version of the game only has Chapter 1 included. In the new Deltarune Switch version, the game will now contain both Chapters 1 and 2 for free.

The original plan was for the rest of Deltarune’s remaining chapters after the first one to release all at once. This is why fans of the Deltarune franchise weren’t expecting Chapter 2 to be free at all. Toby Fox has always advertised that the rest of Deltarune’s story beyond Chapter 1 will have a price tag. Fox suddenly announced just a few days before the PC version’s release that Chapter 2 will be free. 

Deltarune Chapter 2 was previously launched for both Windows and Mac last September 17. Because of the sudden change of plans, even the pacing for launching chapters altered. Toby Fox mentioned that instead of launching all other chapters at once, players will be receiving Chapters 3-5 next. We’ll just have to wait for Fox’s announcement on when he plans to release Chapters 3-5.

It’ll take a while until we’ll be able to play the upcoming Chapters for Deltarune. Toby Fox plans on taking a break for a little while, considering that he created another chapter for free. You can only imagine the hard work he has put in on the game. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until we get the new chapters.
