The front office made a massive trade to acquire Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks, making the Denver Broncos a legitimate contender next season. They don't have a first-round selection, but this franchise can still make a splash in the draft. For that reason, we go over some of our Broncos predictions with the 2022 NFL Draft in mind.
This roster is set for the most part, but Denver will aim to acquire some talented depth players. After trading Noah Fant to the Seahawks, the Broncos should consider finding a rookie tight end to develop behind Albert Okwuegbunam. However, for the most part, the front office should consider trading some of their picks this year for selections in 2023.
Even so, the Broncos will have a chance to make a splash pick late in the second round of the NFL Draft. With the 64th pick overall, Denver can reel in a talented defensive prospect. Depending on who falls to them, this rookie could make an impact on the defense immediately.
With that said, here are three bold Broncos predictions for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Broncos Predictions for 2022 NFL Draft
3. Denver finds a rookie tight end to develop behind Albert Okwuegbunam
This offense should be fine with Albert Okwuegbunam leading the way as the starting tight end. However, not having Noah Fant on the field could be an issue. That can all be fixed through the 2022 NFL Draft, as the Broncos can find a solid tight end prospect on draft weekend. We'll see how it plays out, but Denver can still find a way to improve the offense.
With two picks in the third round, the front office can make a splash pick for a talented tight end. The ideal prospect would thrive as a blocker though, as Okwuegbunam will likely serve as the main pass option for the tight end group. This draft class has a plethora of talent available in this position, which bodes well for the Broncos.
2. The front office trades multiple picks for future selections in 2023
Denver has gone all-in on a Super B0wl run in 2022. For that reason, it might be wise for the front office to acquire more draft picks in the 2023 NFL Draft. To do that, we could see the Broncos deal away some of their selections this season to load up for next year. This would be a wise move, as it would allow this team to be competitive now while having the assets to fill any holes on the roster at the end of this season.

This would be a smart decision, especially considering the team doesn't have a first-round selection in the next two years. Denver can at least replace some of their draft capital lost in the Russell Wilson trade. If the Broncos can manage that, then they should be in a Super Bowl window for several years.
1. Broncos select a stud defensive player late in round two
The Broncos have a chance to find a stud prospect with the 64th pick overall of the 2022 NFL Draft. There aren't many holes on this roster if any, but the team could still use another pass rusher or cornerback. Depending on how the draft plays out, the front office could bring in a talented prospect to help right away.
Keep an eye on players like Nick Bonitto or Marcus Jones. Bonitto should be selected in the second round, as he's a talented pass rusher many teams like. Meanwhile, Jones is a prospect cornerback that should be available when the Broncos are on the clock. Either of these prospects would be a great fit for Denver and potentially make an impact in their rookie campaign.
