The New England Patriots shocked everybody on roster cut day by releasing veteran Cam Newton, essentially pegged Mac Jones as the man for Bill Belichick. With a Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins, suddenly it becomes an Alabama duel with Jones and Tua Tagovailoa set to face off.

In turn, the pairing brought a reaction from Dolphins head coach Brian Flores.

Flores is a Bill Belichick disciple that made his way over to Miami to become the head coach and finished just one game away from the playoffs in his first season as the head man.

As far as the Dolphins are concerned, they seem excited about Tua Tagovailoa's sophomore season, even with the recent rumors of a potential trade involving Deshaun Watson, although Flores went to great measures to silence any trade chatter.

Either way, Week 1 between the Dolphins and the Patriots was already being circled as a big AFC East matchup as the two teams likely fight for a playoff spot behind the Buffalo Bills, who won the division in 2020. Nonetheless, get ready for Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa to battle it off to start the regular season, and the Alabama boys will be plenty in that game.
