Drake's love for basketball is well-known amongst fans. The Canadian hip-hop sensation has been a staple in many big NBA events. He also owns part of the Toronto Raptors, and is recognized as the Raps' ā€œglobal ambassadorā€. He's also not shy in referencing his NBA peers in a couple of his songs.

It doesn't come as a surprise, then, when Drake showed up to J. Cole's inaugural home game for the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the CEBL. The Canadian rapper even rocked Cole's jersey to the occasion, which was a nice touch. (via Def Pen Hoops)

Both Drake and J. Cole are two of the most influential hip-hop stars of today. Drake rose to prominence in the 2010s as one of the most successful rappers in the game. J. Cole, on the other hand, started gaining traction in the mainstream media around the late 2010s, as his smooth rapping style and meaningful songs garnered the attention of fans.

J. Cole's stint in the Canadian Elite Basketball League is the second time the rapper ever suited up for a professional team. Fans will remember his initial stint in the Basketball Africa League. He had a three-day contract with the team, which was uneventful in terms of on-court production. Now, he's trying his hand at another pro league again.

As for Drake, the Canadian rapper seems to have no desire to play basketball professionally like his peers. That might be for the best: he's earned a couple of rivals in the NBA due to his trash-talking on the sidelines.
