EA Sports College Football 25 will feature an extensive amount of plays for all 134 schools in the game. Although many teams can often run the same plays, like a simple HB dive, the truth is many NCAAF teams have different, and even iconic play styles. Air Force is known for its Triple Option, and USC has its Air Raid offense. So, how will EA Orlando incorporate all these unique plays in the upcoming game? Let's take a look and find out!
How Many Plays Will Be In EA College Football 25?
Today, EA Sports confirmed that 0ver 1,500 new plays and 0ver 50 formations are coming to EA College Football 25, along with the 134 school playbooks. These new plays will represent and reflect the current CFB landscape. Additionally, the developers are adding another 10 non-team playbooks based on a variety of play styles.
Now let's do the math. 1,500 divided by 134 equals 11.19, which means that it averages about to 11-12 new plays per team. Not a bad number, considering the game features all FBS schools. And technically, the wording is that the game added over 1,500 NEW plays. So, as of this moment, we do not have an exact total on how many plays the game will offer. However, it definitely seems like there'll be no shortage of things to do in CFB 25.
And Players will get to see the attention to detail when using specific plays with specific teams. You'll see teams line up in and play out similarly to how they do in real life, like Oklahoma's popular “Wide” formation/splits. We've seen the attention to detail when it comes to presentation. We're glad to see that EA wants to do the same for actual gameplay.
EA College Football 25 Introduces New Trick Plays & Play Types
Overall, EA College Football 25 will introduce a multitude of new trick plays, such as:
- DIY Reverse – You decide who gets to keep the ball by using the left bumper buttons (either console). Essentially, it works like your typical option play, but gives your more control. However, you'll need to read the field in order to tell who can make a big play.
- Double Pass
- Reverse
- Reverse Pass
- Reverse Flea Flicker
Just remember that using these trick plays too often will result in the defense adapting to your play style. So you'll want to change up your play calling throughout the game to keep opponents guessing.
Additionally, College Football 25 added a “Glance” RPO Play Type. It gives players the ability to read a Safety to the side of a Glance route (or Short Post). And that's not all, as the developers emphasized the significance of RPO plays in College Football 25.
Lastly, EA College Football 25 is also adding a Flexbone option offense that features a wide variety of plays. This includes Triple Option, Midline, Zone Drive, Counter Option, and more.
Overall, that includes everything we know so far about the EA College Football 25 Plays, Playbook, and Team Styles. We're really excited to see how many new plays we can run with. However, knowing most gamers, we'll all probably just come back to Four Verticals (AKA Ol' reliable) when times get tough. Nevertheless, we can't wait to see how people utilize these new plays across all the different playbooks.
