The Philadelphia Eagles earned a hard-fought 37-34 overtime victory over the Buffalo Bills in Week 12 to push their record on the season to 10-1, and it's safe to say that this was probably the most thrilling game of the entire 2023 NFL season to this point. Of course, things wouldn't have gone this way for Philadelphia if it weren't for Jake Elliott stepping up for his team in the clutch, and his heroics drew some high praise from Darius Slay.

With the score sitting at 31-28, the Eagles sent Elliott onto the field to attempt a 59-yard field goal, which was already hard enough, but was made even more difficult thanks to the rainy conditions that had plagued the game throughout the day. Elliott somehow ended up hitting the kick, leading to an awesome “GOAT” take from Slay when discussing Elliott's huge field goal.

Via James Palmer:

“‘I for sure was watching. Because I want to see greatness. I knew Jake was going to make it. I call him Jake the GOAT. He’s arguably the 2nd best athlete on the team. I’m first because I can beat him in basketball. He can beat me in golf. But other than that he’s the second best athlete on the team. He’s GOATed man.' – Slay on Eagles K Jake Elliott”

Elliott has made a habit of delivering in the clutch throughout his career for the Eagles, but there likely weren't many folks that were overly confident that he would go out and nail this field goal to send the game to overtime. Sure enough, with Slay and the rest of his teammates supporting him, Elliott went out and hit one of the more difficult kicks in recent memory to keep the Eagles alive.

Everyone stepped up and made big plays throughout the day for Philadelphia, but without Elliott's heroics, none of that would have mattered. Slay realized that, and gave the star kicker some hilarious props for delivering in this big moment for the Eagles. There are a lot of things to feel good about when your team is 10-1, and now Elliott, Slay, and company will turn their attention towards another big clash with the San Francisco 40ers in Week 13.
