On Monday morning, a scathing report surfaced about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, with Joseph Santoliquito of Philly Voice stating that Wentz is not loved within the Eagles' locker room and is viewed as a selfish, egotistical player.

A couple of Eagles players have already come out to dispute the report, with defensive lineman Fletcher Cox and offensive lineman Brandon Brooks taking to Twitter to set the record straight:

The report said that at one point, a highly-respected teammate even challenged Wentz, scolding him for not being a “team guy.”

This is obviously not a good thing for an Eagles franchise that seems highly committed to Wentz as its quarterback going forward, especially taking into account how loved Nick Foles is within the locker room.

Foles has a $20 million team option this offseason, one the Eagles are expected to either decline or pick up and then trade him to a team such as the Jacksonville Jaguars. Philadelphia can also place a franchise tag on Foles and then move him.

Wentz has suffered injuries in each of the last two years, falling victim to a torn ACL during the 2017 campaign which opened the door for Foles to lead the Eagles through a playoff run that resulted in their first ever Super Bowl title and injuring is back this season, which again resulted in Foles taking the reins and pushing Philly to the Divisional Round, where it lost to the New Orleans Saints.

The good news is that Wentz does appear to have some backers, but you have to wonder how many other Eagles players feel the same way as Cox and Brooks.
