Things went downhill quickly for Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. He has been downgraded to ‘out', per NFL reporter Derrick Gunn. for the Birds' Week 13 matchup against the Jets. This is due to the ankle injury he suffered in the team's brutal loss to the Giants. He was seen with his ankle being taped up on the sidelines, but was able to finish the game.

On Wednesday, Hurts spoke to the media and seemed very positive regarding the severity of his injury. When he was asked how the injury would impact his ability to play in Week 13, he replied, “It won't.”

Now, Saturday evening before an early Sunday afternoon game, backup quarterback Gardner Minshew is believed to start for Philadelphia.

NBC Sports Philadelphia reporter John Clark tweeted: I'm told Gardner Minshew took a lot of reps at QB at Eagles walkthrough today…I'm told Jalen Hurts is a gametime decision tomorrow at the Jets. Jalen was limited Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.”

Not even an hour after Clark's tweet, the news broke that Hurts is out. Minshew has only taken a couple of snaps for the Eagles this season. In their Week 8 win against the Lions, he threw two for two with a total of 11 yards. This will be his first full game of the season.
