The Athletic recently put out the publication's latest NFL quarterback rankings. There is little debate at the top. However, the discussion really begins in the second tier, a group that features Philadelphia Eagles signal caller Carson Wentz, who has encountered a stretch of injury trouble over the last few seasons.

Because Wentz has been unable to stay healthy, The Athletic placed him at No. 10 overall on such a list while at least one NFL evaluator remains concerned about the Eagles starting quarterback and his injury prone ways.

“Wentz just got paid, so if all of a sudden they are 7-9, it is going to be, wait a minute,” one NFL evaluator recently told The Athletic. “I hope this is not an RGIII situation, but because of the injuries, I think he needs to reconfigure how he plays.”

Although a Robert Griffin III situation would surely be the worst-case scenario for both the Eagles and Wentz alike, it hasn't quite reached that threshold. Wentz is technically a Super Bowl champion — the Eagles managed to capture the franchise's first-ever Super Bowl in his absence a few years ago. That absence was once again due to injury.

With Wentz finishing the last two seasons on the sideline, one of which came when the Eagles won the team's Super Bowl title, fellow signal caller Nick Foles was in Philadelphia to back up his teammate under center. Now, Foles is gearing up for his first season as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
