After just missing out on a Super Bowl title, the Philadelphia Eagles sought some extra juice for their offseason. Their squeeze came in the form of running back Rashaad Penny. Early in the offseason, Eagles fans have gotten their first look at Penny wearing Philadelphia green.

Penny was able to take part in Philly's OTAs. Not only did fans get their first look at the running back, but Penny had an opportunity to work with Jalen Hurts on the practice field, via Martin Frank of the Delaware News Journal.

Of course, Penny was just participating in a no-tackle OTAs session. His involvement with Hurts was him simply receiving a hand off. However, while the reps might not be as intense, Penny just participating in OTAs is a welcome sight for Eagles fans for a number of reasons.

The running back broke his fibula in Week 5 last season. The fact he is able to take hand offs and cut shows he is well on his way to recovery. While it was just a $1.35 million deal, the Eagles didn't sign Penny to sit on the bench.

Instead, he'll look to control a major share of the rushing offense. With Miles Sanders now on the Carolina Panthers, Philadelphia needs a lead running. While Jalen Hurts will certainly be running, Penny seems first in line to become the Eagles RB1.

Rashaad Penny will need to overcome his injury woes to become a true difference maker for the Eagles. However, his early showings at OTAs are a good sign. As Penny and Hurts continue to get acclimated, the Eagles offense should only soar higher.
