The Philadelphia Eagles are hoping to forget the 2023 NFL season. The Eagles opened the regular season incredibly strong and spent several months at the top of the NFC playoff picture. However, they crumbled down the stretch and ended up getting blown out in the Wild Card round against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. One of the Eagles' fan favorites has earned a coaching promotion and will take on additional responsibilities in 2024.

According to Jeff McLane, Dom DiSandro, known by his nickname “Big Dom”, has been promoted to be in charge of gameday coaching operations.

DiSandro was already the senior advisor to general manager Howie Roseman and the team's chief security officer. He reportedly now has responsibilities that involve overseeing head coach Nick Sirianni's coaching staff on game days.

McLane also suggested that Big Dom's title change may have been to prevent the league from disciplining him should there by another episode on the sidelines that he is involved in.

DiSandro was banned from the sideline for the remainder of the 2023 regular season after an altercation with 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw. San Francisco went on to win that game, but the altercation resulted in Greenlaw being ejected from the game.

The Philadelphia Eagles will open the 2024 NFL season with a first-ever game in Brazil. They will face the Green Bay Packers on Friday September 6th at Corinthians Arena in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Jalen Hurts already feeling comfortable in Kellen Moore's offense

The Eagles replaced offensive coordinator Brian Johnson with Kellen Moore this offseason.

Moore has been an intriguing name in the coordinator ranks for years. He was most recently the offensive coordinator in Dallas for multiple seasons. Apparently, the Eagles liked what they saw from his work with their division rival.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts already seems to have taken a shine to Kellen Moore. Hurts recently spoke with the media about how he's acclimating to Moore's new offensive scheme.

“You get to a point where you feel, I'm going to be comfortable with this, I like this, that time comes when you can rep it, rep it, rep it later on, but right now it's been a lot of new inventory in — the majority of it, probably 95 percent of it being new — and so it's just been that process, and it's been a fun process because you get to see what works for other people,” Hurts said, via Tim McManus of ESPN.

It is interesting to learn that Hurts says 95% of the offense is new. This suggests that the entire offense may have to go through some growing pains early in the season. However, anything would be an improvement from what Philadelphia's offense showed late last season.

Hurts intends to master Kellen Moore's offense before the regular season.

“I think the goal coming in was to learn Kellen's offense and to master it,” Hurts said. “And I think that's been a process, and by the end of it, I want it to be mine and have it in my own way.”

If the Eagles' offense can become dominant again, Philadelphia will become serious contenders in the NFC once again.
