Back in November 2018, Netflix officially announced their live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop. Inspired by the massively popular anime series that aired in the late ’90s, this live-action take has been in production for a while. But now we get to have a first look at the images as well as the premiere date.
Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka “cowboys,” all trying to outrun the past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy, snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system’s most dangerous criminals—for the right price. But they can only kick and quip their way out of so many scuffles before their pasts finally catch up with them.
With the original anime series director Shinichirō Watanabe as a consultant on the series and original composer Yoko Kanno returning, we feel like Netflix will stay true to the anime. The only thing left to do now is wait for the trailer.
The space Western will debut on Netflix on November 19, 2021.
