Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley was shockingly suspended for the entire 2022 season for allegedly gambling on NFL games while he was away from the team this past November. The Falcons released a statement shortly after Ridley's gambling suspension was announced, via the team's website.

“We were first made aware of the league's investigation on Feb. 9. We have cooperated fully with the investigation since receiving notice and support the league's findings and actions. We are moving forward in the 2022 season with the decision that was made. With the decision that was made by the NFL, any further questions on the investigation should be directed to the league office.”

The Falcons said they were first notified of the league's investigation into Calvin Ridley's actions on February 9. The organization then noted that they fully participated with the NFL's investigation on Ridley's gambling and that they are moving forward with the decision made by the league on his suspension for the 2022 season.

Ridley does have the right to appeal his suspension. The Falcons wideout can apply for reinstatement in February of 2023. He shockingly stepped away from the team back in October, citing the need to work on his mental health. Ridley was then placed on the league's non-football illness list in November.
