After trailing late in the first quarter, the Atlanta Falcons went to a trick play that left the Los Angeles Chargers' defense lost in the transition. Russell Gage–a wideout by the way–let off a 39-yard pass to fellow wide receiver Calvin Ridley for a touchdown.

The pass by Russell Gage tied the game as the first quarter drew to a close. To go along with his impressive touchdown pass, he has also caught two of his three targets for 39 yards through the first half.

Calvin Ridley has been exceptional as well while posing a problem for the Chargers' defense. He has brought in 95 yards via reception for one touchdown, catching four of his five targets through the first half as well.

The Falcons had briefly taken a 10-7 lead before the Chargers returned the favor with a field goal to once again tie the game. Even so, Atlanta once again took the lead following a Matt Ryan pass for a touchdown.

Heading to Sunday's game, Atlanta sits third in the NFC South, though they've tried to make some last-minute turnarounds for the season. They've won three of their last five games coming into the showdown, all of which came against decent opponents.

While their chances of making the playoffs are practically null and void, they still can leave a positive image with their fan base if they turn in some wins for the remainder of the season.
