A Final Fantasy IX Remake is once again seemingly leaked by a new source. This time, an FF9 Remake was apparently leaked by EpicDB, a new database site claiming to have indexed everything within the Epic Games Store.

The leak, first reported in ResetEra forums, claims that various unannounced games have been leaked by the EpicDB site thanks to the information indexed within the site. Among the games listed are The Last of Us Part 2, Final Fantasy XVI, Until Dawn, Grand Theft Auto 6, Bloodborne Remake, and even The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion and The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind.

It's worth noting that some of the games mentioned above have also previously figured in leaks such as the infamous Nvidia GeForce leak, and until now, the veracity of these leaks is still being contested. Fans are advised not to get their hopes up and to take all of these leaks with bowls of salt.

Still, news about an FF9 Remake will surely excite fans. Ever since the release of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Trilogy, Final Fantasy fans have been clamoring for remakes of its other older titles. Chief among these titles are Final Fantasy 9, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Final Fantasy 6.

About a year ago, another leaker also claimed that the Final Fantasy IX Remake project was “real” and “currently in development,” but we still don't have any official news, updates, or announcements from Square Enix.

Final Fantasy IX Remake Memoria Project

Whether or not this news is real, there's still an unofficial Final Fantasy IX Remake that is currently in the works called Memoria Project. This game is being developed by a group of volunteer developers and artists in the video game industry and has a 25-minute gameplay demo. The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5.

For the unaware, Final Fantasy IX was Square Enix's attempt to ground the series back into its fantasy roots, and was considered one of the greatest games of all time on the PlayStation One. Originally released in the year 2000, the game eventually found its way to more platforms like the PC, Android, iOS, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and the Xbox One.

The game is set in the fantasy world of Gaia, a world with a mix of steampunk and medieval fantasy elements. The main character is Zidane, a thief that is tasked to kidnap the Princess of Alexandria, Garnet, only to find out that Garnet herself wants to leave Alexandria for reasons of her own. It was the last game whose music was composed solely by legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu.
