Florida A&M running back Kelvin Dean Jr. is looking for help after his SWAC Championship ring was stolen on Monday. Dean has been the victim of burglaries twice in the last month and a half.

Dean took to X Tuesday around 5 a.m., stating that his car had been broken into for the second time. The post received over 23,000 views in just a few hours.

“Someone has broken in my car in Tallahassee twice. This time, they stole my SWAC Championship ring,” Dean posted.

“If anyone hears or sees anyone trying to sell it, let me know, please.”

Florida A&M received their SWAC Championship rings back in April in a ceremony at the university. Florida A&M celebrated its first SWAC football championship over Prairie View A&M back in December, beating them 35-14.

Dean’s car had been broken into six weeks prior to this incident at his apartment complex; his iPad and IDs were stolen. He says that his brother is also a resident of the complex and has experienced his car being burglarized as well. Dean submitted a report to the Leon County Sheriff‘s Office and notified his apartment complex of both incidents. The LCSO dusted Dean’s car for fingerprints on Monday.

Despite the number of burglaries that have occurred, Dean says his complex doesn’t have security personnel or cameras on the property. This could make things difficult when trying to investigate these thefts. Dean has considered buying cameras to protect his property.

“They have no cameras or security out here,” Dean said.

“It’s kind of like we’re left alone and forced to maybe buy our own cameras,” Dean said. “It’s a lot of stuff I got to worry about every time I go to sleep.”

Dean was a productive player for the Rattlers and a key contributor to their victory in the Celebration Bowl. He finished the season with 376 yards rushing on 73 attempts and 3 touchdowns, and he was also a receiving threat with 11 catches for 136 yards and 3 touchdowns. His two touchdowns during their Celebration Bowl matchup with Howard University helped Florida A&M secure their monumental victory, earning earned him the Celebration Bowl’s Offensive Most Valuable Player award.
