Danjin is one of the characters available during the launch of Wuthering Waves, one that players might already own thanks to their Beginner rolls. In this guide, we will teach players how to build their Danjin, including the best weapon and Echoes to equip.
Danjin Build Guide
Do note that this guide is for the currently available Weapons and Echoes in the game. Should new weapons or Echoes get introduced that are better, we will be sure to update this guide.
Danjin Kit Overview
We already have a guide detailing Danjin's kit. However, let's go through it quickly for the sake of this guide.
Danjin is an SR (4-star) Havoc Sword character, whose role in a team is either as a Sub-DPS or the Main DPS. Their kit involves sacrificing HP to deal huge amounts of damage, before recovering it and doing it all over again. She can also increase the Havoc DMG that allies deal thanks to her Outro Skill.
Danjin's Basic Attack, Heavy Attack, Mid-Air Attack, and Dodge Counter all deal Havoc Damage to enemies they hit. Her Heavy Attack does, however, has a special interaction with her Resonance Skill.
Her Resonance Skill, Crimson Fragment, deals Havoc Damage to the target enemy at the cost of some of Danjin's HP. This skill has no cooldown, so players can spam it to deal damage as long as Danji has HP. Using this skill accumulates Ruby Blossom stacks.
Once Danjin has at least 60 Ruby Blossom, performing a Heavy Attack will cast Chaoscleave, which will deal a huge amount of damage, while also restoring HP to Danjin. Doing this with full stacks of Ruby Blossom will further increase the damage that Danjin deals.
Her Resonance Liberation, Echoing Orchestra, deals a large amount of Havoc DMG over multiple attacks.
Danjin Skill Leveling Priority
First level Danjin's Resonance Skill, as that will be her primary source of damage. Follow it up with her Forte Circuit, as that increases the damage that her empowered Heavy Attack does. Next is the Resonance Liberation, which increases the damage it does. Finally, level the Basic Attack and Intro Skill.
Make sure to also level the Inherent Skills when they become available, as well as the other nodes in the Skill Tree.
Danjin Best Weapons Guide
All values are at Rank 5
Emerald of Genesis: Increases Energy Regen by 25.6%. When Resonance Skill is released, increases ATK by 12%, stacking up to 2 time(s). This effect lasts for 10s.
This is currently the best weapon for Danjin, thanks to its high ATK value, as well as the Crit Rate substat. The Energy Regen helps regenerate energy faster, allowing her to spam her Resonance Liberation more.
Finally, thanks to her ability to spam her Resonance Skill, the ATK buff from the weapon has a 100% uptime.
Commando of Conviction: When Intro Skill is released, increases ATK by 30%, lasting for 15s.
This is a good alternative weapon for Danjin that players can get a free copy of from the initial free 4-star weapon box. The ATK bonus is huge, and can easily be triggered as you will definitely be switching out of Danjin now and then to your buffer or healer.
Lumingloss: When Resonance Skill is released, increases Basic Attack DMG and Heavy Attack DMG by 64%, stacking up to 1 time(s). This effect lasts for 10s and can be triggered 1 time(s) every 1s.
Since Danjin can spam her Resonance Skill, this weapon's Basic and Heavy Attack DMG bonus will always be activated. Additionally, since Chaoscleave is considered Heavy Attack DMG, its damage will also increase.
Lunar Cutter: Equipped Resonator gains 6 stack(s) of Oath upon entering the battlefield. Each stack increases ATK by 2%, up to 6 stacks. This effect can be triggered 1 time(s) every 12s. Oath reduces by 1 stack(s) every 2s. Equipped Resonator gains an additional 6 stack(s) of Oath upon defeating an enemy.
This is a perfect weapon for a Sub-DPS Danjin as its weapon effect expects you to swap out of Danjin frequently, which you will definitely do to take advantage of her Outro Skill. It also has decent weapon stats, so it will increase the damage she deals.
Sword of Night: When Intro Skill is released, increases ATK by 16%, lasting for 10s.
This weapon is a more F2P version of the Commando of Conviction, providing the same type of buff upon using Danjin's Intro Skill. Of course, as it is a 3-star weapon, its stats are lacking compared to the Commando of Conviction.
Danjin Best Echoes Guide
It's important to remember that the ideal allocation of Echoes is 1 4-Cost Echo, 2 3-Cost Echoes, and 2 1-Cost Echoes.
Sonata Effect: 5-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse
- Havoc DMG +10%
- Havoc DMG +7.5% after releasing Basic Attack or Heavy Attack. This effect stacks up to 4 times, each stack lasts 15 s
- Main Echo: Crownless
This is perhaps the most ideal Echoes set for Danjin, as it provides up to 40% additional Havoc DMG after they reach max stacks of the 5-piece effect.
Additionally, Crownless increases Danjin's Havoc DMG and Resonance Skill DMG. Since Danjin's Resonance Skill is her main source of damage, she will benefit greatly from the bonus damage.
Sonata Effect: 2-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse, 2-piece Lingering Tunes
- Havoc DMG +10%
- ATK increases by 10%
- Main Echo: Crownless (Consistent Damage) or Dreamless (Burst Damage)
This is a good alternative Echoes set for Danjin as it provides a DMG bonus in two ways: Havoc DMG Bonus and ATK increase. This will help consistently improve Danjin's DMG as the buffs do not require additional activation requirements.
The downside is that you get less of a Havoc DMG bonus, relying solely on the Echo skill of the Crownless to get one.
Sonata Effect: 2-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse, 2-piece Moonlit Clouds
- Havoc DMG +10%
- Energy Regen increases by 10%
- Main Echo: Dreamless
This is another good Echoes build for Danjin, focusing on making sure that the Rover can use their Resonance Liberation over and over again. This allows Danjin to consistently use her Resonance Liberation to deal bursts of damage to the enemy.
Sonata Effect: 2-piece Sun-sinking Eclipse, 2-piece Rejuvenating Glow
- Havoc DMG +10%
- Healing Bonus +10%
- Main Echo: Dreamless
This is a more niche Echoes set for Danjin, focusing on improving her survivability via the healing she gets from Chaoscleave. The downside of this is that it sacrifices a lot of damage for survivability, so don't use it if Danjin is your main DPS.
For Echo main stats, get Crit DMG or Crit Rate on the 4-cost Echo, Havoc DMG% on both 3-cost Echoes, and ATK% on both 1-cost Echoes. For substats, get more CRIT Rate and DMG, then Energy Regeneration, and finally ATK% and Resonance Liberation/Skill DMG%.
Danjin Teams Guide
As mentioned above, Danjin can serve as both a Main-DPS and Sub-DPS. As such, here are some sample team builds for Danjin:
Danjin Main DPS – Danjin, Baizhi, Taoqi
Danjin will be dealing a majority of the team's damage, with Baizhi providing healing and buffs, while Taoqi provides damage reduction and Shields. This helps improve Danjin's survivability, allowing her to use her Skill often without worrying about her HP getting too low.
Verina is also a good healer for this team, as her Resonance Liberation and passive skill allows Danjin to recover HP while attacking and on the field.
Danjin Sub-DPS – Havoc Rover, Baizhi, Danjin
This team has Danjin taking up the SUb-DPS role, prioritizing using their Outro Skill to support the Main DPS thanks to its Haovc DMG Deepen.
Start off fights with Danjin, dealing enough damage until Concerto is charged up. Once it is, swap over to the Havoc Rover to deal bursts of damage. Once the Havoc DMG Deepn wears out, swap back to Danjin to charge Concerto again, and repeat that fight.
Baizhi, or any other healer like Verina, can take the last spot in the team.
That's all for our guide on the best build, for Danjin, including their weapons, Echoes, and possible team compositions. Wuthering Waves is available on Google Play, the Apple App Store, and PC via the Epic Games Store and its official PC client.
