Fortnite has had its fair share of glitches and exploits in the past, and it still has the occasional one or two per season. This season, a player discovered a Fortnite exploit that prolongs the depleting health bar while the player is down. Thanks to this exploit, players can worry slightly less about downed teammates getting eliminated entirely.

In typical battle royale fashion, being knocked down means waiting for squad members to win a fight before reviving you. Normally, when your health bar completely depletes, your team will end up struggling. Meaning, your team still needs to pick your reboot card up and revive you along the way while left outnumbered. However, because of a newly discovered exploit, this might no longer be a problem.

Reddit user u/madelrush discovered this Fortnite exploit and posted a video of how to execute it. Apparently, while down, if you’re near a Mending Machine, you can purchase a patch up to keep you alive. The patch-up would refill your repleting health bar at the cost of 200 Gold Bars in the Mending Machine.

Honestly speaking, we’re not entirely sure if this is an exploit or an actual new feature Epic Games added. Also, we have to consider that Epic never announced this certain feature being added to the game. However, while a player is down, they can still open doors and use ziplines. Summing up all these factors, it’s really a 50/50 situation. Still, exploit or not, it’s a pretty cool feature for squads to utilize.
