Honkai Star Rail Version 1.2 features the debut banner of Blade in the first half. Is rolling for Blade worth it? Find out here.

Why You Should Roll for Blade

Blade is a 5-star Wind Destruction, whose kit centers around consuming his own HP to buff his own damage and healing back up via his Talent. He has great scaling with Max HP, and enhancing his Basic Attack at the expense of HP also turns it into a blast that scales with Max HP.

His Ultimate sets his HP to 50%, and can be used to either heal him or add another stack towards his Talent. At E0, Blade is already an amazing unit but of course, having more Eidolons and his Signature Light Cone can help a lot. More information about his kit can be found below or here.

Blade has great synergy with Bronya and Luocha, turning him into an absolute unkillable powerhouse if both are present in the party supporting Blade.

It would be a good idea to roll for Blade for the following reasons:

  • You like his character design
  • You like his gameplay
  • You don't mind putting in a lot of investment
  • You want a flexible, strong DPS.
  • You want a stable unit for endgame content.
  • You are not interested in the upcoming Honkai Star Rail 1.3 banners, Fu Xuan and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae.

Why You Should Not Roll for Blade

For the min-max players, Blade's best party-mates are hard to get, especially Luocha. Blade's healing on its own is not enough to keep him alive most of the time, and Luocha's automatic healing is great at mitigating this weakness of Blade. If you want to make the most of your Blade, Bronya and Luocha are almost necessities.

The amount of investment that he requires may also be a turn-off for some players. Rolling for him also means less fund for the upcoming Kafka banner.

You probably shouldn't roll for Blade if:

  • You don't like his character design
  • You don't like his gameplay
  • You don't want to invest
  • You want to min-max him and you don't have Bronya and/or Luocha
  • You would rather roll for Kafka
  • You would rather roll for the upcoming Honkai Star Rail 1.3 characters, Fu Xuan and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae

Blade

“A member of the Stellaron Hunters, and a swordsman who abandoned his blade.

Pledges loyalty to Destiny's Slave, and possesses a terrifying self-healing ability.”

Blade is a 5-star Wind character in Honkai: Star Rail, following the Path of Destruction. Blade's kit allows him to deal damage and sustain himself in battle. He's capable of outputting a lot of damage, whether against one enemy or multiple targets. Although his kit has healing, a strong healer is still heavily recommended to keep him going especially in long fights.

Arlan is a 4-star Lightning character following the Path of Destruction. His kit revolves around consuming his own HP to use his skill instead of a skill point, allowing him to exist alongside more skill point hungry units. Read more about Arlan here.

Sushang is a 4-star Physical character, and her Path is The Hunt. Members in this Path are known for their ability to deal large amounts of damage to a single target, allowing them to take down enemies with ease. Sushang does this by dealing multiple instances of Physical DMG to one target using her Skill. Read more about Sushang here.

Natasha is a 4-star Physical character, and her Path is The Abundance. Members in this Path are known for being the game's healers. Natasha is the most accessible as she is the only 4-star healer at the moment along with the fact that she is given to players for free by advancing the main story through Trailblazer Missions. Read more about Natasha here.

The Unreachable Side (5-star Destruction) – Increases the wearer's CRIT rate by 18/21/24/27/30% and increases their Max HP by 18/21/24/27/30%. When the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, their DMG increases by 24/28/32/36/40%. This effect is removed after the wearer uses an attack.

A Secret Vow (4-star The Destruction) – Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 20/25/30/35/40%. The wearer also deals an extra 20/25/30/35/40% of DMG to enemies with a higher HP percentage than the wearer.

This Warp is a Light Cone Event Warp. For the purposes of the guaranteed 5-star character system, the running total of Warps made always carries over from one Light Cone Event Warp to the next. Total Warps made are calculated separately for different types of Warps, which do not affect each other.
