New World is celebrating its first-ever winter holiday event. This special winter event called the Winter Convergence Festival lasts from December 16, 2021, to January 11, 2022. The event also introduces a brand new in-game currency called Winter Tokens. These tokens allow players to redeem limited-time event items. However, players can only acquire Winter Tokens through the use of Gleamite. If you’re wondering how to obtain Gleamite, don’t worry, we got you covered.
How to harvest Gleamite in New World
The Winter Convergence Festival event will have its very own questline for a limited time. Throughout your progress, players will eventually need to complete a quest from the Winter Wanderer sending you to Winter Village. In this quest, players will have to mine the fallen Gleamite Crystals. The Winter Wanderer will mark all of the fallen crystals’ locations so players could easily track them down. However, keep in mind that the Gleamite Crystals won’t always appear in those certain spots.
All Gleamite Crystals will only appear at a certain time in Aerternum. Ranging from nightfall until the break of dawn, Gleamite Meteors will shower Aeternum at random spots. It won’t be difficult to miss these beautiful crystals thanks to their fascinating violet shadow glow. Also, locating the Gleamite Crystals will be a breeze since players can see them showering from the sky. After the meteor shower, players can then harvest the chunks of crystals to acquire Gleamite.

After harvesting enough Gleamite, players can then exchange the resources for Winter Tokens. Players simply need to go to the nearest Winter Village inside the Holiday Hut to trade Winter Tokens. You’ll be needing 10 Gleamite in order to get 1 Winter Token. Players can then use these tokens to redeem exclusive Winter Convergence Festival rewards.
The Winter Convergence Festival is proof that Amazon Studios stayed true to their word about having a winter-themed event. Despite all the challenges, the devs are still finding ways to make New World a fun MMORPG to play. Hopefully, this event will make up for all the flaws New World had in the past and make their players trust in the devs more.
