Riot Games works toward fixing the League of Legends chat system but it will take a few patches to kick in. Senior experience designer Jordan Checkman teased the impending changes to LOL's chat window in a Tweet. Negative player feedback spurred the incoming changes to the game.

Toxic players already make the chat an unpleasant experience by default. Unfortunately, Riot Games saw fit to make adjustments but players made their thoughts clear. Riot made minimal changes to the chat but the backlash was immense. Several League of Legends players aired their grievances in a Reddit thread that has received generally similar responses. Players piled onto the thread by sharing their own experiences. Several complaints noted a readability issue with the new chat size.

Riot Games teased that the end-of-game double enter bug could potentially be removed in patch 11.2. Presumably, there are a lot of codes needed to get sorted before such a glaring issue is removed from the game finally. Fans brought up several other issues. However, Checkman says that Riot is looking into some of the issues.

Bear in mind that the changes teased by Riot are “subject to change.”  Patch 11.1 releases on January 6, 2021, according to Riot's schedule. Hopefully, Riot fixed as much as they can right before the start of the 2021 competitive season.

The beginning of every season is usually riddled with massive bugs. It's a common occurrence that can almost be considered tradition at this point. Riot Games eventually gets its game in order so players will have to wait for the fixes.
