New York Giants wide receiver Corey Coleman suffered a torn ACL in practice on Wednesday and will miss the entire 2019 campaign, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

The injury to Coleman occurred on the same day that fellow wideout Sterling Shepard fractured his thumb, so obviously, the Giants are not in a great place right now as far as receiver depth is concerned.

Coleman played in eight games for the Giants in 2018, logging five catches for 71 yards.

The 25-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Baylor University, was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

He was limited to just 10 games during his rookie year due to a broken hand, hauling in 33 receptions for 413 yards when he was on the field. Then, the following year, Coleman broke his hand again and appeared in only nine contests, catching 23 passes for 305 yards and a couple of touchdowns.

The Dallas native would go on to become frustrated with not getting enough reps in Browns' training camp last summer and requested a trade. He was ultimately dealt to the Buffalo Bills, but he was waived by the Bills shortly before the regular season began.

Coleman then signed with the New England Patriots but was released after a week. He re-joined the Patriots' practice squad but was cut again nine days later.

New York proceeded to sign Coleman to its practice squad in mid-October and promoted him to the active roster six days later.
