The Giants have made some big changes on offense this offseason. New York moved on from former franchise icon Saquon Barkley and replaced him with former Bills and Texans RB Devin Singletary. Singletary recently spoke with the media and compared himself to the former Giants running back.

“I’ve been in the league just like him … he’s only been in the league a year before me. … I feel like I’m a playmaker like him, so … I’m just gonna be me,” Singletary told The Post. “It’s been going well for me since I’ve been in the league, so that’s what I’m gonna keep doing.”

Giants head coach Brian Daboll is hopeful that Singletary can help replace Saquon's production in New York's offense.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni recently revealed that his go-to quip for heckling Giants fans is “We got your best player”, referring to Barkley. Singletary and the Giants don't care about replacing Saquon Barkley. They just want to win football games.

“I don’t know, just ball out, win games, I think that’s the biggest thing,” Singletary said. “That’s our focus anyway — win games.”

“We ain’t really worried about ‘The Shadow of Saquon’ or none of that,” Singletary continued. “It’s just find ways to win games.”

Brian Daboll is likely to assume play-calling duties in 2024. He was Singletary's offensive coordinator from 2019-2021 in Buffalo. Singletary is excited about playing in a Brian Daboll offense again.

“He’s fearless,” Singletary said of his head coach. “No fear of failure. He only has the desire to excel.”

Singletary’s familiarity with the system will be invaluable as he gets settled with a new team.

“You have to be on your toes at all times with Daboll,” he said. “It’s never like we didn’t see that one coming.”

2024 will be an important season for the Giants.

Brian Daboll has shown flashes of elevating the team during his short tenure in New York. However, the team has to turn the corner and become a consistent winner soon if Daboll wants to keep his job.

The awkward QB situation in New York doesn't help matters. Daniel Jones will be the starter in 2024, but everyone can tell that the Giants would love to move on from him after the season.

New York will be competing for a Wild Card playoff berth in 2024, but even that looks like a long shot. Their schedule is somewhat favorable, but the NFC features several teams who will be in the Wild Card hunt.

The Giants will have the opportunity to start the regular season on a hot streak. Their first three games come against the Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders, and Cleveland Browns. The Vikings and Commanders will be breaking in new QBs, which could give the Giants an edge in those contests. Similarly, the Browns have had zero consistency at QB over the past two seasons, so it is anyone's guess how prepared they are by Week 3 of the season.

If New York can pounce on the opportunity to start 3-0, it is possible that they ride that momentum through the first half of the season and enter their bye with a winning record.
