In the last several months since suffering a broken ankle, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has been progressively on the mend from the injury. He has continued to make strides forward in his recovery toward being physically ready to go well ahead of the start of the 2018 season.

Beckham Jr. has demonstrated no reason to believe otherwise up to this point for any concerns about the rehab process. According to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk, head coach Pat Shurmur recently voiced much optimism about his star wideout's health stating that he is well on his way to making a full recovery.

“He’s been through [the building], and to my knowledge, he’s making great progress,” Shurmur said. “I don’t know about the [training] camp part of it yet.”

This latest development provides more encouragement that Beckham Jr. will be on the field for the 2018 season without any hindrances. He had suffered a season-ending broken ankle last November in just his fourth game of the season, which marked the fewest amount of appearances in any of his first four years in the league.

Through his brief NFL career, Beckham Jr. has quickly risen up the ranks as one of the best wide receivers in the league behind historic production on the field. This saw him become the first player in league history to record at least 90 catches, 1,300 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in each of his first three seasons. He was well on his way to possibly add to that mark in 2017 with 25 catches for 302 receiving yards and three touchdowns in the four games he played.

Beckham Jr.'s presence on the field will provide a significant boost to the offense as he has proven to be a game-changing factor. He is set to play in the final year of his rookie contract in the fifth-year option playing for $8.4 million, which he has already expressed great interest in hammering out a new deal with the team.
