The New York Giants have struggled to an 0-2 start to begin the 2018 NFL season However, rookie running back Saquon Barkley does not feel their record thus far dictates anything.
Losing two close games is never an ideal way to start the year. Fortunately, Barkley is optimistic about how the Giants will respond moving forward, via ESPN:

There is good reason for the Barkley to be optimistic. Although New York has failed to win either of its first two games, both were decided by just one touchdown. The fact that they could have gone either way somewhat legitimizes his comments. It also does not hurt that Barkley has looked every bit the part of a workhorse back this season.
Running backs are very seldom regarded as top picks these days. However, Barkley was this year's version of the exception to the rule after the Giants selected him with the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He has quickly proven why after registering more than 100 yards from scrimmage in the first two games of his career. He has certainly done his part and more.
There was plenty of optimism in New York going into the 2018 campaign. The Giants will need to find a way to close out games soon or they will risk having to endure more of these single-digit losses. They will be squaring off against another 0-2 team that feels it is better than their record shows in the Houston Texans.
