The New York Giants are beginning to become very thin along their offensive line. After getting hurt in the first half, Nate Solder is ruled out versus the New York Jets with a concussion per Jordan Raanan.

The injury to Solder comes at an awful time with right tackle Mike Remmers already being out due to a back injury. Due to their starting tackles being out, Eric Smith and Nick Gates are getting their first action in the NFL.

The Giants signed Solder to a four-year, $62 million contract before the 2018 season after spending his first seven seasons with the New England Patriots. During his time in New England, Solder was one of the standout left tackles in the NFL.

However, since his arrival in New York, he's been inconsistent with his ability to pass protect. As a matter of fact, Solder has allowed eight sacks (second-most among offensive tackles).

While his play on the field has been faltering, his availability has been valuable for the Giants. Dating back to his time with the Patriots, the veteran left tackle has started in 56 consecutive games.

Since signing with the Giants, Solder has started in all 25 possible games. Luckily for him, he will have two weeks to recover, with New York having their bye week in Week 11.

Solder will join Sterling Shepard in the team's concussion protocol as they enter their bye week. Of course, Shepard has missed the past five weeks due to his concussion and it is uncertain when he will be able to return.
