Rory McIlroy took home a win at the RBC Canadian Open on Sunday, claiming his 21st PGA Tour victory. After the win, McIlroy was fired up over the win and took a savage shot at LIV Golf founder and former PGA Tour member Greg Norman when talking to the media. McIlroy admitted there was some extra incentive to notch win No. 21 in order to one-up Norman, who finished his career with 20 wins on the Tour.

“21st PGA Tour win, one more than someone else. That gave me a little bit of extra incentive today,” McIlroy said. “Happy to get it done.”

Shots fired.

McIlroy has openly opposed the controversial upstart LIV Golf, which is backed by Greg Norman along with the support of Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund. When asked if he'd ever consider joining, McIlroy said it “wasn't something I would do, personally,” but went on to say that he “can certainly understand why some of the guys” joined the new tour.

McIlroy's comments come in response to some remarks from Norman in which he claimed that Rory, as well as other members of the PGA Tour, have been “brainwashed” into opposing LIV Golf.

After notching the 21st win of his prolific career, McIlroy couldn't help but take a jab at Norman, who is now firmly behind him in the PGA Tour record books.

Among the notable players to jump ship from the PGA Tour and join LIV Golf include Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed, Sergio Garcia, and more.
