At this point in the offseason, most NBA teams already have their rosters set for the 2023-24 season. A few minor moves are what's left to be made in the form of two-way contracts or training camp Exhibit 10 contracts. This season as per the NBA's new CBA, teams are allowed to have three two-way contracts instead of only two. The Memphis Grizzlies had two of their two-way roster spots filled with one open. The Grizzlies opted to use that final two-way contract spot on second round pick GG Jackson from South Carolina as per Michael Scotto of Hoopshype.com

The Grizzlies drafted GG Jackson with the No. 45 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. GG Jackson always seemed destined to grab one of the Grizzlies open two-way contract spots as they already had a full roster of standard contracts. Jackson stood out in his lone season at South Carolina where he solidified himself as an NBA Draft pick. At one point he appeared in the first round in several mocks.

Jackson also stood out in NBA Summer League playing in eight total games for the Grizzlies between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City. He averaged 10.6 points per game and 5.7 rebounds with splits of 36.5 percent shooting from the field, 32.6 percent shooting from the three-point line and 72.7 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Jackson will most likely spend the majority of his rookie season in the G League with the Memphis Hustle. He will be allowed a maximum of 50 NBA games and will not be able to play in the playoffs unless his contract is ultimately converted to a standard contract on the Grizzlies roster.
