Miami Heat players didn't take kindly to Ersan Ilyasova's post-series comments on the team's fans, saying that the “gym was half-empty,” referring to the attendance at American Airlines Arena during the Philadelphia 76ers first-round matchup.

Dwyane Wade had no hesitation addressing his comments, taking to Twitter to voice his take.

“Let me apologize for this man that most of you don't even know,” said Wade in a tweet. “He doesn't know any better (facepalm emoji).”

Wade's tweet came only minutes after team president Pat Riley was asked to address the matter, which he did so humorously.

“I don't care what Ilyasova says. We have the greatest fans in the world,” said Riley, according to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. “They just sip a little more wine before they come to the games,” Riley cracked.

Heat fans have been known to be late attendees during regular season games, and now even during postseason games, but Wade and Riley have been definitely appreciative of their home court support during the season and their two postseason games at home.

Surprisingly, Miami has an ongoing eighth-longest sellout streak in NBA history, which is a stark difference from what Ilyasova describes in his efforts to compare the road atmosphere with his next opponent in the Boston Celtics.
