Prior to the Miami Heat's Game 6 win in Boston, Kyle Lowry did not look like an NBA player. This isn't an exaggeration: the veteran point guard looked outmatched in Games 4 and 5 against the Celtics. Lowry did not look like the All-NBA point guard that fans were expecting when he joined the team. Many were calling for him to be benched.

Thankfully for the Heat, Lowry turned up in Game 6 for them. Lowry dropped a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists, along with 4 rebounds. That game was the perfect complement to Jimmy Butler's lights-out performance to force a do-or-die Game 7 in their home floor.

After the game, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra commented on Kyle Lowry's incredible game. Here's what he had to say. (via NBA)

“I can’t say enough about Kyle and his veteran leadership,” Spoelstra said. “It means so much to us and you can’t put an analytic [to] what it means to your team of the feeling of calm and confidence that he can give everybody. He’s one of the all-time clutch players in this league.”

Lowry was brought over in the offseason in a sign-and-trade deal with the Toronto Raptors. The general expectation was that the point guard would bring a sense of stability to the Heat roster. It did look rough at first, as Lowry missed a bunch of games in the playoffs due to an injury. However, once he was healthy, Lowry immediately made an impact on the team.

Can the Heat sustain their momentum for Game 7? It took an all-time performance from Butler in Game 6. They'll need more of that tomorrow in order to make it back to the Finals.
