Jimmy Butler's agent, Bernie Lee, did not hold back his thoughts after Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium claimed there have been “very testy moments” between his client and the Miami Heat this season.
On Friday, while talking with a panel that includes NBA free agent guard Iman Shumpert, Charania shared that he has been told about what has transpired behind the scenes between Butler and the Heat. Obviously, they were able to get through that as Miami made the playoffs as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
“I'm told there has been very, very testy moments behind the scenes between Jimmy and that coaching staff,” Shams explained during the discussion, per Stadium.
After seeing the clip of the talk, Butler's agent clearly did not like Charania sharing what he said as fake news, adding that it is “not reality.” He added a NSFW rant at the message, showing how angry and disappointed he was with the reporting.
The agent also clarified that everything is good between the Heat and Jimmy Butler.

Butler had been called a toxic teammate before, so this is probably where all the leaks and rumors about his relationships with teams are based. However, there is no doubt he has found a home with the Heat, who share his same intensity, passion and work ethic.
After all, much has been said about their partnership as being a match made in basketball heaven.
For Shams Charania's part, his reporting and sources could have possibly exaggerated the story, given Butler's reputation for being straightforward and always challenging his teammates to be better. Sure, there might really be some misunderstandings and disagreements–which is really part of being on a team and having the desire to win–but it might not be as bad as the report makes it to be.
