A Home Alone revival is coming to Disney+. A film franchise that tanked after Macaulay Culkin removed himself from that franchise is hoping to find new live on the popular streaming service. In this post, we'll cover the Home Alone revival cast, as well as the Home Alone revival release date.
Home Alone Revival Cast
According to Deadline, a rather fine publication, the revival (we're not sure if this is a full reboot or not yet, to be clear), will star Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney and Archie Yates. Yates is set to play the character of Max Mercer, who appears to be the new “Kevin” for this version of the franchise.
The inclusion of Kemper here is rather interesting, as she was just recently in the middle of a huge scandal.
These aren't the only names in the mix, though. Saturday Night Live mainstay Kenan Thompson is also set to be in the film. Rounding out the cast are Aisling Bea, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell.
Home Alone Revival Release Date
This flick is scheduled to go live on Disney+ (exclusively) on November 12 of this year.
No news if this is already in production or not. Given the release date, it's either already been done filming completely or they plan on having a very short and tight schedule to get this out to the masses.
Not that any of that part actually matters to fans.
Other Disney+ Notes
Nevertheless, in total, there's been five installments of the franchise. This will obviously be the first “direct-to” for the platform. Here's to hoping they can recapture the magic of the original two.
If not, we can all scream in our bathroom mirrors after putting on aftershave together. But really, let's hope that does not end up being the case and the flick itself is just flatly good.
