Blade is now playable in Honkai Star Rail. Check out this Blade guide for the best Light Cones, Relics, Teams, and more.

Honkai Star Rail – Blade Guide

Blade is a 5-star Wind character on the Path of Destruction. His debut banner began on July 19th, 2023, on the first half of Honkai Star Rail Version 1.2.

You can read more about Blade here.

Blade Abilities and Traces Guide

The priority for leveling his abilities is Basic > Talent = Ultimate > Skill.

This is because his Skill simply enhances his Basic Attack, making it fine to put leveling the Skill as a lower priority. There may also be a timing where Blade would not have his Enhanced Basic Attack up, giving further importance to leveling this Trace.

His Talent and Ultimate both scale heavily off of his Max HP, and are both key tools to making sure Blade survives. Both of these also deal a decent amount of damage, and investing in them is going to be worth it.

His Talent gains a Charge stack every time his health bar decreases from any source. At 5 stacks, he consumes all stacks and launches a follow-up attack that scales with ATK and Max HP while also restoring 25% of his Max HP.

Blade's Ultimate sets his HP to 50% of his Max HP, and deals damage in a Blast that scales off of his ATK, Max HP, and the amount of HP he has lost since he last cast his Ultimate.

Blade Light Cone Guide

His best in slot is his Signature Light Cone, The Unreachable Side.

The Unreachable Side

  • Increases the wearer's CRIT rate by 18/21/24/27/30% and increases their Max HP by 18/21/24/27/30%. When the wearer is attacked or consumes their own HP, their DMG increases by 24/28/32/36/40%. This effect is removed after the wearer uses an attack.

The 4-star Light Cone A Secret Vow is a more accessible option.

A Secret Vow

  • Increases DMG dealt by the wearer by 20/25/30/35/40%. The wearer also deals an extra 20/25/30/35/40% of DMG to enemies whose current HP percentage is equal to or higher than the wearer's current HP percentage.

If both aren't available, On the Fall of an Aeon is also a choice, but does not compare in performance to the other two even at S5.

On the Fall of an Aeon

  • Whenever the wearer attacks, their ATK is increased by 8/10/12/14/16% in this battle, up to 4 time(s). When the wearer inflicts Weakness Break on enemies, the wearer's DMG increases by 12/15/18/21/24% for 2 turn(s).

Blade Relics Guide

Prioritize the following Main Stats:

  • Body: CRIT DMG or CRIT Rate
  • Feet: SPD or HP%
  • Planar Sphere: Wind DMG or HP%
  • Link Rope: HP%

Prioritize the following Substats:

  • CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG
  • SPD
  • HP%

The 4-set Longevous Disciple is the recommended Relic Set for Blade.

  • 2-set: Increases Max HP by 12%.
  • 4-set: When the wearer is hit or has their HP consumed by an ally or themselves, their CRIT Rate increases by 8% for 2 turn(s) and up to 2 stacks.

Pair that with either the Inert Salsotto or Rutilant Arena Planetary Sets.

  • Inert Salsotto: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 50% or higher, the wearer's Ultimate and follow-up attack DMG increases by 15%.
  • Rutilant Arena: Increases the wearer's CRIT Rate by 8%. When the wearer's current CRIT Rate reaches 70% or higher, the wearer's Basic ATK and Skill DMG increase by 20%.

Blade Team Comp Guide

Blade is a Destruction character, and uses his own HP to enhance his Skill Point. While he is capable of healing himself, a strong, dedicated healer is still heavily recommended to make sure that Blade doesn't die no matter how much he wants to.

Blade

  • Functions as the Main DPS
  • Can function as the sole DPS or share damage with one other unit.
  • Needs a healer due to big HP bar and HP costs

Debuffer

  • Recommended unit: Silver Wolf
    • She can shred the enemy DEF and RES while inflicting Wind Weakness if it doesn't have it yet.
  • Pela can also be used here.

Healer

  • Recommended unit: Luocha
    • Having Luocha on the party with Blade will make him nigh unkillable with little effort.
    • Using Luocha will also free up a lot of Skill Points for the rest of the team to use.

Flex

  • Recommended unit: Bronya
    • Having Bronya with Blade allows him to attack twice as much, and given that most of these attacks are also empowered by his Skill, his Talent will also stack up faster. Bronya can be given the space to use her skill on Blade on her every turn, and this is made easier with Luocha since he does not use many skill points.
  • Another Nihility unit or DPS unit can be placed instead. However, Blade and Bronya's synergy is amazing and if you have the option to do so, you should.
