After a successful college career at UConn, there were high expectations for Jeremy Lamb after the Oklahoma City Thunder selected him with the 12th overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. However, through four seasons, Lamb has not met these expectations.

Heading into the 2017-18 NBA season, Lamb is entering the second year of his three-year, $21 million deal. According to Rick Bonnell of Charlotte Observer, head coach Steve Clifford expressed excitement about the fifth-year guard's offseason workouts:

“I’m really excited about what he’s done and where he’s at,” Clifford told the Observer of Lamb, who will enter his third NBA season with the Hornets when training camp opens at Spectrum Center Sept. 26.

While Lamb has received opportunities in his stints with the Thunder and Hornets, he has not been able to establish consistency in his young career. With the Hornets having numerous players capable of playing the small forward and shooting guard positions, he will have competition heading into the new season.

For the Hornets, they are looking to return to the playoffs in a weakened Eastern Conference. By acquiring Dwight Howard from the Atlanta Hawks, the hope he is can regain his All-Star form and provide much-needed rebounding and rim protection in Charlotte.
