With the Houston Texans Week 8 game being against the Los Angeles Rams, we'll see if this franchise can find a way to win against one of the better teams in the league. There isn't much hope for Houston right now, as they're currently rebuilding the roster. We'll be taking a look at this Texans-Rams game with some Texans Week 8 predictions in mind.

This is a difficult matchup for the Texans, as the Rams are better in every way imaginable. Even so, LA could lose the game if they happen to underestimate Houston altogether. Los Angeles will hope to control the clock in the second half, so Houston must prepare to control Darrell Henderson on Sunday.

At least the offense has something to be excited about. Although the trade deadline is right around the corner, the Texans still have some talent on the roster. Look for Chris Conley to potentially have a big game. Additionally, with Mark Ingram gone, Phillip Lindsay could thrive in an expanded role. Lastly, Brandin Cooks is easily the best player in Houston and could provide consistency in the passing attack.

With that said, here are four bold Texans Week 8 predictions for their game against the Rams.

Texans Week 8 Predictions

4. Texans defense finds a way to slow down Darrell Henderson

Matthew Stafford is on fire while Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods have been unstoppable. It's hard to imagine the Texans slowing down the Rams passing attack. For that reason, Houston might be better off focusing on stopping the run instead.

Los Angeles is bound to take a big lead in the first half, which should translate to a heavy run game in the third and fourth quarters. For Houston to get back into this game, they must be able to contain Darrell Henderson. It'll give the Texans offense more chances to even out the score.

3. Chris Conley steps up as a solid second option in the passing game

Houston's offense is putrid and they need guys on the roster to step up. This is a perfect opportunity for Chris Conley to assert himself as a solid second option for Houston. Most of the attention will be on Brandin Cooks, which could leave Conley flying under the radar on Sunday.

2. Phillip Lindsay thrives in his new starting role

The front office traded Mark Ingram to the New Orleans Saints, opening up an opportunity for Phillip Lindsay to play in an expanded role. He's arguably the best running back on the roster now and could be in for a solid performance against the Rams.

We'll see how it plays out, but Lindsay could surprise LA with a strong performance. He's known for taking advantage of his opportunities, as we've seen him do during his stint with the Denver Broncos. Look for Phillip Lindsay to be active throughout this game.

1. Brandin Cooks puts up 100+ yards and 1 touchdown

Brandin Cooks is easily the best player on the Texans' roster and has proven to be a valuable pass option regardless of Houston's struggles. This is going to be a tough game for him though, as he'll likely be shadowed by Jalen Ramsey throughout most of the matchup. Even so, Cooks will have plenty of chances to make some big plays for Houston.
