I Am Groot creator and director Kirsten Lepore has another MCU shorts series idea. This would please even more Guardians of the Galaxy fans.

Speaking to ComicBook, Lepore was asked if she had ideas for another MCU shorts series. “My brain, of course, goes to Guardians [of the Galaxy] first,” she said. “What would a Rocket one look like? You know, baby raccoon stories?”

However, she conceded that they could do it for almost any MCU character. “I could see them doing it with character,” Lepore confessed. “If [there was] any way that we can do babies, but for the Avengers [laughs].”

Groot was the perfect fit in Lepore's eyes, though. Especially given his CGI roots. “Although Groot really does fit super well because he works perfectly in the animated space,” Lepore said. “I think that was important to them. It's all animated after all, even though it does look like photorealistic CG plucked out of the world of the Guardians. It was nice to be able to do that super real world looking style. At the end of the day, he is a totally animated character. So it really made sense.”

I Am Groot is a series of shorts following the titular character (voiced by Vin Diesel). Kirsten Lepore, an animated project veteran, created and directed all 10 episodes throughout the two seasons.

It sounds like if it were up to Lepore, the next MCU shorts series would follow-up on the popularity of baby Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The MCU loves its cute versions of iconic characters. Perhaps they'll take her up on her pitch.

I Am Groot Season 2 is streaming on Disney+ now.
